Theme Upgrade At Jobs in China

September 24th, 2009 by Stephen Cronin [Shortlink]

I’ve just upgraded the theme I’m using here at Jobs in China. I’ve tested it pretty well, but you never know – if anyone notices anything strange, please let me know!

I’ve reworked the home page, adding the slideshow and separate sections for the Blog, Site News, Jobs and Flickr Picks. I think it’s much nicer than the old list of blog posts (which can still be seen on the Blog page).

I’ve also added the new menu system, which looks far superior to the old one.

Finally, there are some small performance gains, with a reduction in the number of images that need to be served up, etc.

Anyway, this has all been done in preparation for the addition of job listings here at Jobs in China. The current listings are just brief entries pointing somewhere else. I’ve now developed a proper job listing, which I’ll release in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information.
