Teaching in China

The vast majority of foreigers working in China are teaching English. It’s a boom industry and has been for more than 10 years. Qualified teachers can take their pick of high paying jobs. Unqualified teachers normally have to settle for lower paying positions, but once again have a wide range of choice.

But it’s not all plain sailing. Promises are often made that aren’t kept. Some schools have huge classes, don’t provide any teaching materials, or have unrealistic expections of teachers.

We help you understand what you’re getting into if you teach English in China.
