Fake iPhone – Scobalizer In China

Okay, these photos were taken by Robert Scoble, of Scobalizer fame, who was a famous blogger for Microsoft and who now heads up FastCompany.tv. Robert appears to be in China for a couple of weeks to meet entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. He’s also taking some very interesting photos:

Fake iPhone

First up we have a photo of a fake IPhone. Not a surprise really – fake copies of everything are available in China. The IPhone would be a prime target. With his ex-Microsoft connection, I wonder what Robert thinks of all the fake Microsoft software you can buy for under USD$1?

Child in Shanghai

Next we have a great shot of a child looking at a fountain in Shanghai. There’s something about this shot that I really like.

"PuJersey" is what they call it

This is a great shot of the PuDong skyline in Shanghai, which was built on reclaimed land over the last 10 years or so. This is one of the more common shots of China.

Decorations in old Shanghai

Finally, this is a great photo of some red lanterns in Shanghai. Great shot!

I hope Robert enjoys his trip and posts some more photos of China. I also recommend you get over to his blog to read about his trip to China.

poeloq posted some photos of a black and white Beijing street scene:

The images are wonderful: there is great action in each of them; and they work well together.

The first picture is particularly good, because the people are crossing the street in different directions. There’s a lot going on, which makes the picture very interesting.

The second photo is also very interesting they’re all stopped there in the middle of the pedestrian crossing. It looks like they’re having a chat or doing some business there!

I also like the last photo because of the man on the bike heading towards the right and the traffic warden walking to the left, slightly behind him.

This photo of a street scene has a lot in it:

  • The volleyball advertisment: I’ve always thought that this advertisement is cool. Looks great.
  • The KTV Hotel: which you can find throughout in China – although I’m not into Karaoke myself, KTV is an important part of everyday life in China.
  • Bicycles on top of a hut: which seems to be UPS hut, providing bicycle couriers I guess. Modern China.

But the real value in this photo comes from the couple sitting on the bench. Their positioning is great: leaning against each other, while the mother nurses the baby, her leg up against the plant holder. Its a classic!

The other stuff in the photo is interesting, but without the couple, it would not add up to a photo I’d pick to highlight on JobsInChina. In fact, the photo would probably benefit from cropping the rest out and making the couple the focus of the photo.
